ArtistData is out of Beta 1
Today ArtistData launched their new interface design and app store giving musician time-saving and powerful options to sync and distribute information throughout all of their social networking sites on the web.
The dashboard and overall design of the site have been de-cluttered and the site is much simpler to navigate (as well as much easier on the eyes). They’ve also added timezone support so that posts are sent out appropriately.
But the big change is the app store. Previously, ArtistData was completely free – and the good news is, all of those free features have been retained. However, now there are paid apps that you can add to your service that do things like sync to your ical to send out shows to myspace and your other social networks or (and this one looks promising) an app that sends out all of your tour dates to local newspapers in the USA and Canada that are near where you will be touring. If that last one delivers as promised, it should be well worth the $4.99 a month instead of finding all the contact info and sending all of those notices out on your own to get listed in the local media. Talk about a timesaver!
The press release today said that more third party apps should be on the way so sign up for a free account and keep tabs on where they are going with this site. At worst, it’s a great free way to update more than one site at a time and will possibly save you some valuable time. At best, they will come out with some apps that help promote your band in ways that you hadn’t even thought of before.
